2020 saw organisations scale their IT infrastructure to counteract the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The global migration to online businesses saw a global-scale massive stress-test for cloud computing, however, it has also been the largest spike as a result of the outbreak.
IT leaders within the organisation were faced with implementing a cloud strategy enabling employees to work remotely, while also looking for areas to scale down to preserve cost. This led to corporations having to strategically prioritise during the business continuity phase with an aim to digitally transform in order to protect and maintain business operations and revenue as well as reprioritising investments due to economic uncertainty.
